Brief sick computer update

The computer came back from computer hospital, however the local tech people found some other thing wrong with it, so it's gone back to the main service center again for a "re-do."

Still in a holding pattern at the moment. Accessing the web and email very sporadically, whenever I can get on a borrowed computer. Where are the Vulcans when we need them? Sigh...

Thanks to all who have dropped by. I'm still here, hoping to be back soon. Film at 11.

My computer has crashed

Earlier this week my computer crashed. It looks like the hard drive may have died, anyway it's not working right now. Will be looking into if it can be fixed, what can be recovered, etc.

I may have lost some e-mail addresses from my Outlook address book. (Won't know this for sure for a little while,) **** If you're reading this, and you've been in touch with me by e-mail (and if you want to continue to be), please send me a brief e-mail with your email address so I can make sure I have it.

I can still access email through my ISP's website but my access will be sporadic for a little bit. As a friend of mine once said, welcome to Luddites for Technology. Sigh...

More soon, with any luck.

UPDATE posted May 18 -- my computer is in computer hospital now. Waiting to find out if the patient can be saved and how much the doctor bill will be. Should know more sometime this next week.

Science marches on...

May Day 2007 around the world

The website LabourStart contains links to many news stories about May Day demonstrations and related labor actions yesterday, from all over the world, here.

I found the above linked page by going to the LabourStart main page, then in the website's search engine (upper left on the main page) I typed "may day" and selected Current News.

As I'm always reminded this time of year, when I read the May Day news reports from around the world, we are not alone.

Salud.
