Julia Stein on 19th century California poets

A couple of great articles by poet Julia Stein in her blog California Writer--

On John Rollin Ridge;

and on Ambrose Bierce and Edwin Markham.

It looks like these are the first two in a series of articles she's doing on the topic.

Thank you for the link. Many smart posts. I noticed you mentioned 'Proletpen' to Stein in an earlier post; I found that too at the Syracuse library late last year, and it's powerful often. There are a couple of great poems on Sacco/Vanzetti. Many rare finds like Yosl Grinshpan whose stuff is so much in the struggle for survival during the Depression; he never made it out. Pax.
